JD Dillard continues to establish himself as a filmmaker with a distinctive ability to captivate audiences through authentic, innovative storytelling across film, television, and commercials.

In television, Dillard is the co-creator, executive producer, and director of the first three episodes of Apple TV’s adaptation of William Gibson’s sci-fi classic NEUROMANCER, which premieres in January 2027. He also directed the pilot episode of the upcoming UNTITLED GODZILLA/MONSTERVERSE series, coming to Apple TV in late 2027. His additional television credits include episodes of THE OUTSIDER for HBO, UTOPIA for Amazon, and THE TWILIGHT ZONE.

Dillard brings that same cinematic vision to his commercial work, which includes projects for OnStar and Nike. His approach pairs visually ambitious filmmaking with grounded, human storytelling.

On the film side, Dillard most recently directed the historical war epic DEVOTION, which Sony Pictures released following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. He made his feature directorial debut with SLEIGHT, which he also co-wrote. Shot on a micro-budget, the film sparked a bidding war following its celebrated debut at Sundance in 2016. In 2019, Dillard returned to Sundance with his sophomore feature SWEETHEART, a Blumhouse thriller that he directed and co-wrote.
